Utilizing the skills I have honed while leading a team as a Manager for Maroondah City Council's "Wyreena Community Arts Center" along with the skills i have developed as a facilitator teaching in schools and community groups across Australia and Canada, I have been guiding the strategic direction of Slamalamadingdong's Programming. Every event and project Slamalamadingdong undertakes is done so by, for and with the community in an active and collaborative process.

 

Currently I am running bi-monthly meetings with the members of our team and assessing what each individual's needs are for building their own professional practice as Artists with Slamalamadingdong. I facilitate Open Community Forums where programming plans are born. At the end of May 2013 we plan to publish a survey in our newsletter to obtain feedback from the community in regards to what they would like to see happen at the Melbourne Festival of Spoken Word.

 

Our initial approach with the members of WYPIN will be to conduct a survey to assess their desires and needs as young people.
